Overview

The EMC Shop stocks turnkey magnetic field transformers and coils to generate the requirements according to the IEC 61000-4-8 standard. ISO 17025 accredited calibrations are available.

The TPG400A current transformer is for the typical mains frequencies of 50 Hz to 60 Hz. It is used to feed the 1 meter square induction coil (ICOIL-4). This coil setup can reach magnetic field strengths of 1000 A/m for a short time and 360 A/m consistently. It has low inductance and can be used with fast signals or one turn will need more ampere to reach fields expected by IEC 61000-4-8. The square induction coil ICOIL-4 is used with the TPG400A to generate magnetic fields for immunity testing according to IEC 61000-4-8, IEC 61000-4-9 and IEC 61000-4-10.The side length of the ICOIL-4 is 3 feet and comes with screw terminals. The pulse generator that is built into the TPG400A had intervals of .5-5 seconds. Other time intervals can be set by manually holding the start button.
