The EMC Shop originated from ESD Guns, a leader in electrostatic discharge testing, and has expanded its expertise to encompass a broader spectrum of EMI, RFI, and electrical transient compliance testing solutions. The EMC Shop brings the ease and efficiency of online shopping to this specialized field, providing engineers and buyers with quick and convenient access to the tools they need.

The Story Continues
This initial focus on electrostatic discharge testing set the stage for The EMC Shop. As the industry changed, the company evolved. In 2016, the team grew to include experts in a wider range of electromagnetic compliance (EMC) testing, such as conducted immunity and other key areas.
Today, The EMC Shop is a partner in the electromagnetic compliance and test equipment market. It is an ISO 17025 accredited company, a registered government contractor (Cage Code #7JDN6), and a trusted vendor within purchasing networks including Exostar, Ariba, and Xeeva. The team employs and contracts with experts dedicated to EMI, RFI, and electrical transient compliance testing.
- 2019: Acquired the former ARRIS facility in Nevada City, CA, Also in 2019, The EMC Shop achieved ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for its calibration services, with a focus on conducted immunity test equipment.
- 2021: Expanded its ISO/IEC 17025 scope of accreditation to include RF equipment calibration. This broadened the ability to serve customers with comprehensive calibration needs, including on-site services, a rare offering in North America.
- 2023: Relocated to a new, state-of-the-art 40,000 sq ft facility in Rocklin, CA. This expansion enhances operational capacity and supports continued growth to meet the evolving demands of the EMC testing industry.
- 2024: expanded its ISO/IEC 17025 scope of accreditation to include electric field probe equipment calibration, another rare offering in North America.
2025: The EMC Shop is engaged with consultants and other engineers involved in frontline experimentation of electromagnetic effects on emerging technologies. With remote staff in California, Texas, New Jersey and Mexico, regular company meetings keep the team versed on developments and company direction based on standards or test changes, economic conditions, or technological developments. Regular seminars made for the public are also attended by The EMC Shop personnel, ensuring everyone has an excellent grasp of the needs of its customers and technical competence in electromagnetic testing.
