We're All Human
In 2019, a piece of test equipment returned from rent not functioning. The technician who inspected it, checked it before we shipped it. The technician was sure the customer had opened the unit up and made some apparant adjustments/changes to the hardware. The customer swore up and down they had not. I stood by the technician after weeks of back and forth. The customer eventually involved the company attorney. We determined it wasn't worth the money to stand our ground or dispute the issue any longer. The event would come up for years as the furthest Legal concerns we have encountered. A few years later, upon retirement of the technician, I decided to dig into the serial number and its service history. Want to know what I found out?
