Overview
The Schwarzbeck VHFB 8801 is a balanced VHF Line Impedance Stabilization Network (LISN) designed for conducted emissions measurements in the frequency range of 30 MHz to 300 MHz. It provides a defined impedance to the equipment under test while minimizing the influence of external noise, ensuring stable and repeatable measurement conditions at higher frequencies.
At The EMC Shop, customers typically use the Schwarzbeck VHFB 8801 in conducted emissions test setups where balanced power lines or symmetric supply configurations must be evaluated at VHF frequencies. The LISN is connected between the power source and the equipment under test to provide a defined impedance while isolating unwanted noise from the supply.
In practice, engineers use the VHFB 8801 together with EMI receivers or spectrum analyzers to measure high-frequency noise on both lines simultaneously. This is especially useful when testing systems with balanced inputs, where maintaining symmetry is critical to obtaining accurate and meaningful results.
Customers often apply this setup in automotive, aerospace, and industrial environments to assess emissions above the standard LISN range. By using a balanced VHF LISN, engineers can better replicate real-world conditions, identify potential compliance issues early, and ensure reliable performance before formal EMC certification testing.
