Overview

The Langer P1 set of mini burst field generators are used to identify susceptible areas along PCB and IC's of electronic assemblies in the development phase. They generate a burst or an ESD field at their tip. The mini burst generators can be guided by hand across the equipment under test (e.g. printed circuit board) with their field-emitting tips close to its surface. Weak areas respond to the pulsed field and malfunctions will occur.

Additionally, the mini pulsers can be applied to selected individual sections of the circuit board to identify potential weak points (faults in the ground system, individual traces or IC pins). Three burst generators to allow for magnetic and electric field injection and allows an optimal adaptation of EMC countermeasures to the respective weak point.

Mini Handheld Pulse Generators

  • P11 Focused Magnetic Field Generator

    The P11 mini burst field generator creates a magnetic disturbance field with a diameter of approx. 3 mm at its tip. Localized pulses can be transmitted via this field onto the surface of printed circuit boards and components allowing for weak points such as the sensitive parts of conducting paths, components and component connectors to be detected.

  • P12 Vortex Magnetic Field Generator

    The P12 mini burst field generator creates a magnetic disturbance field, which functions like a coupling clamp. This allows the disturbance current to be coupled into single conducting paths, IC pins, SMD components, and thin cables (flat cables). To measure, the P12 can be positioned onto the DUT.

  • P21 Electric Disturbance Field Generator

    The P21 mini burst field generator creates an electric field at its tip, which is suitable for coupling into conducting paths, wires, pins, and components, especially SMD components like resistors and capacitors. Single conductors of flat cables or plug contacts can be tested.
