Overview

Magnetic Field Immunity Test System per IEC 61000-4-39 for both magnetic and radiated RF field immunity tests are rented and delivered to custumers with software and setup diagrams to quickly evalutate their product prior to going to the test lab. The EMC Shop is an ISO 17025 accredited calibration lab and preferred North American for solutions for EMC, RF measurement and expanding to other areas of electronics testing.

The magnetic loops are specified in IEC 61000-4-39 and are readily available. However, producing a field through the loops might not be straight forward. The loop impedance changes over its frequency range, and the amplifier being used will not match this impedance. The result would be a much higher power requirement. In this case, we are not covering a frequency range but individual frequency points. This allows a matching network to be created to match the loop to the amplifier's impedance.

Radiated/Magnetic Field Immunity Test System Includes:

  • Signal source with internal or external modulation capability
  • Power amplifier(s) to amplify signals (unmodulated and modulated) and drive the radiators up to the necessary test levels
  • Directional coupler
  • Power meter (or an equivalent measuring instrument) to measure the forward power
  • Field generating device: radiating loop
  • Magnetic field sensor loop
  • Voltmeter
  • Current probe
  • Field-generating TEM horn antenna(s)
  • Spacer to keep the TEM horn antenna reference point at specified distance from the EUT
  • field strength probe
