Overview
As per safety test requirements the insulation between accessible parts or parts connected to them and hazardous live parts shall be able to withstand surges due to transients, caused e.g. by lightning events and entering the apparatus through the antenna terminal. The EM Test voltage surge simulator VSS 500N10 generates high voltage transients as required by EN/IEC 60065 and UL 6500 standards for safety tests on audio, video and similar electronic apparatus.
Such test is also required by EN/IEC 60950-1 for safety testing of Information Technology equipment.
The EM Test VSS 500N10 is a high voltage transient surge simulator specifically designed to meet the surge test requirements for safety tests on audio, video and similar apparatus. The standards specify the components for the pulse generation. A special switch is used in the VSS 500N10, designed to avoid any energy to dissipate in arcing or inadequate isulation.
Safety precautions are taken to assure safe operation at this high voltage level. The VSS 500N10 provides interlock and warning lamp control.iec.control remote control and documentation software allows fully automated testing.
