PHFA Harmonics and Flicker Analyzer

The PHFA Harmonics and Flicker analyzer provides the user with a complete system for testing product compliance with IEC61000-3-2 and IEC61000-3-3.

Quick and easy to use, the built-in screen provides a clear pass/fail indication of compliance status, plus a full listing of results for each harmonic, in either tabular of bar graph format. The instrument is properly configured to cope with fluctuating harmonics. The Flicker mode provides proper measurement of short term and long term parameters, using algorithms specified in IEC61000-4-15. In addition, inrush current measurements can be automated such that the product under test can be automatically cycled on/off with user entered time profiles.

  • Stand alone, self contained... a completely integrated instrument
  • Immediate display of compliance status with full listing of all measurements
  • Power meter functions included.
  • Easy setup and automatic analysis against standards
  • Remote control software

COMPREHENSIVE The PHFA is not only a compliant harmonics analyser and flickermeter, it is also a powerful mains power meter and in-rush current meter, with a wide selection of display modes, including tabular, graphical and bargraph.

CONFIDENCE The PHFA is a no- compromise compliance test instrument. It removes all the guesswork from product evaluation and test setting and delivers an unambiguous pass/fail result.

COMPLIANCE The PHFA Flickermeter option measures P st and P lt in accordance with IEC61000-3-3.

CONVENIENCE The PHFA is a completely self contained instrument. Just switch on and take the measurements. The display gives clear indication of the pass/fail states of the test.

PHFA Features

High performance Power Analyzer Mains voltage (rms & peak) and harmonic content. Load power (kW, VA), Amps rms, Amps peak, crest factors, THD, phase angle, Power factor, waveshape & Frequency.

Compliance-quality Harmonics Analyzer Original and up-dated versions of IEC61000-3-2 included. All harmonics up to 40th, including POHC summation. Absolute and percent fundamental. Real time measurements. Classes A, B, C and D evaluation. Display of standard limit values and comparison of results with limits. Simple Pass/fail indication. User control of all test parameters.

Inrush current up to 425A. EN61000-3-3 now requires measurement of the voltage fluctuation caused by inrush current when a product is switched on, Due to the nature of modern power supply circuits, this test needs to be conducted on almost all electronic products.

Compliance quality Flickermeter Display of PU (instantaneous perception), P st and P lt values. Flicker severity evaluation according to EN60868-0.

General Self contained unit. Output for printer and PC. Separate load power and instrument power inputs.

Software

A Windows application package is included as standard with each PHFA. This will run on any current version of Windows and provides a means of downloading the results from the analyzer in real time. This allows storage of results to disk, hard copy via Windows printers, as well as display of results together with setup parameters and load details.
