Overview

Maxwell by Electro Compliance (ECI) is an AI-guided emissions compliance platform that combines real-time spectrum analysis with automated root-cause guidance. It takes aerospace, defense and commercial EMC programs from first sweep to signed-off compliance report in a fraction of the time of manual post-processing, and works alongside the receiver, spectrum analyzer and switching matrix already on your bench. Maxwell is offered as a cloud workspace or as an on-premise installation for air-gapped facilities. Contact The EMC Shop for licensing and demo scheduling.

Guided Emissions Identification

Maxwell ingests raw spectrum sweeps and automatically identifies conducted and radiated emission peaks, cross-referencing them against the applicable limit lines and flagging exceedances with ranked confidence scores. Automated peak detection, limit-line cross-referencing and confidence scoring replace hours of manual trace review.

Root-Cause Intelligence

Beyond peak detection, Maxwell traces emissions back to probable sources - clock harmonics, switching supply artifacts, connector resonances - and presents engineers with ranked, actionable hypotheses before the chamber door opens. Harmonic fingerprinting and switching-noise attribution shorten the debug loop between test iterations.

Adaptive Test Guidance

Maxwell monitors test progress in real time and adjusts recommended scan parameters - frequency step size, dwell time and resolution bandwidth - to focus measurement resources where the risk of an exceedance is highest. Dynamic dwell adjustment and risk-weighted sweep ordering provide closed-loop guidance throughout the session.

Margin and Trend Analytics

Compliance margins are tracked across every test campaign and hardware revision. Maxwell surfaces trends in emission behavior over time and raises margin-regression alerts when headroom is narrowing, so a design change is caught before it causes a failure.

Automated Compliance Reports

Maxwell generates structured pre-compliance and qualification reports formatted for MIL-STD-461, RTCA DO-160 and ECSS-E-ST-20-07 submission, complete with natural-language summaries, limit-line tables and annotated spectrum plots. Reports are submission-ready for customer or certifying-authority review.

Secure, Auditable Records

Every measurement session, AI inference and report-generation event is logged to an immutable audit trail with role-based access control, meeting the data-integrity requirements of NRC, DoD and aerospace prime program offices. All outputs are interpretable and carry full calibration traceability.

How It Works

  • Connect your instruments - Maxwell integrates with your existing receiver, spectrum analyzer and switching matrix over LAN, GPIB or USB. No hardware replacement is required.
  • Run your standard sweep - Conduct your normal conducted or radiated emissions scan. Maxwell ingests the measurement stream in real time, parsing signal metadata, calibration factors and antenna correction tables automatically.
  • AI-guided analysis - Within seconds of each sweep segment completing, Maxwell identifies peaks, scores them against the limit and surfaces root-cause hypotheses in the operator dashboard.
  • Iterate with confidence - Apply the recommended hardware or firmware mitigations, re-run the sweep and see instantly how margins have shifted across iterations.
  • Generate and submit - When the design passes, Maxwell compiles the full campaign record - measurements, inference log, margin tables and narrative - into a formatted compliance report.

Software Licensing

Maxwell is licensed per facility as a cloud workspace subscription, with on-premise deployment available for air-gapped defense and nuclear laboratory environments. Multi-seat and program-office tiers are available. Contact The EMC Shop for a quote or to schedule a live demonstration with an ECI applications engineer.
