IC (Integrated Circuit) Security

  • Common Criteria (CC): A globally recognized standard for evaluating IT products and systems.

  • EMVCo: A standard for the security evaluation of smart card integrated circuits used in payment systems.

  • PSA (Platform Security Architecture): A security evaluation framework and certification for embedded systems.

  • ISO/IEC 15408: The technical basis for Common Criteria.

  • ISO/IEC 17825 and ISO 20085: Standards defining criteria for security evaluations.

  • ISA/IEC 62443: For the security of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) devices.
Testing Methods
  • Side-Channel Analysis (SCA):
Analysis of power consumption, electromagnetic radiation, or timing to extract secret information from the IC.

  • Fault Injection Analysis (FIA):
Intentionally introducing errors to bypass security mechanisms or reveal vulnerabilities.

  • Pre-Silicon and Post-Silicon Analysis:
Evaluating the security of an IC design before and after its physical fabrication.
