Overview
The Compliance West MegaPulse D8-PF is a high-performance electrical hazards simulator built in accordance to IEC 80601-2-26 and other compliance standards for medical equipment. Specifically defibrillation-proof and energy reduction testing of patient-connected devices. It generates controlled high-voltage pulses to simulate defibrillator discharge and verify safe operation after exposure.
The system enables both common mode and differential mode defibrillation testing, along with energy reduction evaluation. With the ability to deliver up to 5000V and a 360J pulse, it allows engineers and compliance labs to assess how effectively devices protect patients during defibrillation events.
The unit integrates pulse generation, waveform shaping, and energy measurement into a single system, simplifying setup and improving repeatability. For energy reduction testing, it measures and displays the energy dissipated through a standard 100Ω resistor immediately after each pulse, enabling fast and accurate compliance verification.
